Waterfront Cottage on Beautiful Saint John River,...
Our cottage is right on the Saint John River, 13 minutes "up the river" from Saint John. We're also 10 minutes away from the Ocean (Bay of Fundy) and less than 1 hour from Calais, Maine and Fredericton, NB
Situated in a little community called "Martinon", just before you get to Grand Bay-Westfield, the cottage is 4 minutes Sobeys grocery store, Scotia Bank, Guardian Pharmacy, a Tim Horton's coffee shop, Grand Bay Home Hardware, 3 gas stations, a post office, schools, churches, etc. - but, it's still very very secluded and private.
The Martinon Yacht Club (for sailboats) is literally "around the bend", and the full service Saint John Marina is only a couple of minutes away.
In the season, you can watch the sailboat races on Tuesday and Thursdays evenings. A bird habitat is just to the right of us, so there is lots of wildlife and we are in a great place to kayak. In winter, go ice fishing just off your own beach. We are accessible all year round.
The cottage sits on a double lot, with approx 60 ft of beachfront. We have a beautiful view and we are in a secluded "little bay".
We love to fish and swim here, and you can walk and walk for hundreds of feet on the sand when the tide is out. The Bay is very shallow which makes it excellent for children to play in.
We have a large cathedral ceiling in the spacious livingroom, and we think its rustic and charming. The measurements are approx:
Livingroom 22 x 19.........Kitchen 9 x 18.........2 Small bedrooms, both approx 12 x 7.5.............Front Bedroom 12 x 16,............Bathroom 6.5 x 8 The cottage is roughly 900 sq ft and we can sleep at least 9 people comfortably.
There is a full bathroom with tub and shower, hot and cold water, a fully functional kitchen with lots of cupboard space, an electric range, microwave, fridge, etc. and we have our own well and septic too.
The cottage is being sold fully furnished and it's all ready to move in for the season.
We have a wood stove that heats the whole house and electric baseboard heat as well. There is a large patio/sundeck with lots of room for entertaining and sun bathing; two large lawns in the front, plus a big back yard as well.
We also have a very spacious parking lot for lots of cars, or for a future garage. There is also secured storage space below the cottage. The cottage is accessible all year round.
